As I ponder tomorrow’s Celebration of Suzanne Maurer’s life I am torn between the heartbreak of losing my dear friend and simultaneously filled with her spirit of resilience.  I met Suzanne over a phone call.  Steve was having a party in 7th grade and my son, Brad was invited.  I wanted to make sure Steve’s parents were going to be home to chaperone, so nervously called his mom and hoped she wouldn’t be offended that I asked; she was so pleased I called to check and had wished more parents were so concerned.  Whew! So started a long family friendship of 40+ years. I gained wisdom & enrichment from my friend with unwavering faith and trust in Our Lord. Suzanne told me when I got to heaven to look for her in “the question box.” Because she didn’t always understand every detail of the Lord’s Plan, she needed some explanation & had questions of certain events; through it all she TRUSTED implicitly. So farewell for now, Suzanne.  When God calls me home, I will see you in the “question box”.   Farewell for now faithful friend.
